Changes

I am taking a little break from doing an EN - RUS translation of John Updike's "Gesturing" for Nora Gal's award (deadline - March 15) to update my readers on some changes in my professional life. 

I hope that every linguist does try themselves in various language-related areas to fully embrace being a language specialist. 

I am now doing an internship for a large translation agency based in Pittsburgh as a Translation Project Manager. I felt quite sad to resign as a Russian Language Interpreter, which my previous job title was, but I am very blessed to have a new opportunity in the linguistic world. I am still, as you may have noticed, pursuing some of my translation ambition participating in translation contests, but right now, I am focused on my new duties. 

I have also received Corine MacKay's book "How To Succeed as a Freelance Translator", but now, I am reading it from a perspective of both a Translator and a Project Manager. Combined in one, it gives you a fuller understanding how our field works and what valuable qualities you should really work on as linguist.
